Bob Bethel, SPHR, SHRM-SCP (
Vice President – HR and Learning Services 

Bob’s career in human resources has led him through a number of area organizations. EA members tap into his extensive experience via our HR Hotline and by engaging him for training and consulting projects. Bob is involved in the HR Professional community as a past Director of the Ohio SHRM State Council and in the local community as a Springfield Township Trustee.

Phyllis Cole, SPHR, SHRM-SCP (
Senior HR Consultant

Phyllis brings 25+ years of HR experience to the EA, and assists with various projects related to HR. She retired from the Lucas County Common Pleas Court in July 2019 before joining The EA in September 2019. Phyllis is active in the HR Community holding various Officer positions for Northwest Ohio Human Resource Association (NOHRA) including President in 2013. She has been part of the Toledo Area Human Resource Associations’ Conference (THRAC) committee since 2012. In addition Phyllis has been active on the Ohio SHRM State Council’s HR Conference committee since 2015. Phyllis earned her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Toledo and her Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Findlay. She attained certification for Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP).

Sheila Eason, SPHR, SHRM-SCP (
Senior HR Consultant

Joining the EA team in 2016, Sheila has over 20 years of experience providing guidance and leadership to managers and leaders of all levels. She has broad experience in Human Resources Generalist roles with large and small companies in a variety of industries including healthcare, institutional pharmacy, market research, production, and not-for-profit organizations. Her extensive experience includes employee relations, talent acquisition, talent management, training, and compliance issues. She has experience leading HR initiatives including policy design, recruiting, compliance reporting, performance management, HRIS implementations, and training and development.

Prior to joining The EA Team, Sheila held senior human resources management positions for The Toledo Clinic and Heartland Healthcare Services and progressive HR leadership roles at TNS NFO.

As a member of The EA Team, Sheila handles various client projects including handbook review and development, On-Site and Seminar training, job analysis, job description development, HR Audits, coaching, workplace investigations, recruiting, and responding to the HR Hotline calls.

Sheila earned her Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Masters of Organization Development from Bowling Green State University. She is certified as a SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) and a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management. She serves as the 2017 President Elect for the Northwest Ohio Human Resource Association (NOHRA).

Colleen House, SHRM-SCP (
Senior HR Consultant

Colleen is a Human Resources professional with over 18 years of experience. Colleen has held HR operational and leadership positions in manufacturing, retail and not for profit healthcare. She has a broad generalist background including staff development, employee relations & engagement, performance management, recruitment and onboarding, policy development, benefits, worker’s compensation and more. She enjoys working with others to support their goals and develop or enhance their HR practices. In her role as HR consultant with the EA, she brings with her the experience, perspectives and lessons learned in her various roles to assist EA members with their HR needs.

Colleen graduated from The University of Toledo with honors and holds a certification as a SHRM Senior Certified Professional with the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).

Mary Marquardt (
HR Consultant

Mary has had a great start to the HR world, she began her career at a Fortune 500 Company. She is a graduate from Lourdes University, with a Bachelor’s in Human Resources Management.  With her knowledge-hungry brain, she is in the process of getting her PHR and SHRM certifications. As a member of the EA team, Mary assists members with HR Audits, handbook and job description development, and recruitment. She is an active member in the HR community with NOHRA. When not working, Mary enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and furbaby, Ellie. She has a love for reading, sunshine, and boat rides. In the summertime, you can catch her in her garden or in the water!
